Yoichi helps clients overcome the challenges of workplace complexity, and he coaches executives in Japanese and English. His approach encompasses structural thinking and the creative process, going well beyond any kind of problem solving prevalent in the corporate world. As a result, his coaching and consulting often lead to a long lasting, sustainable, and creative life of professional managers and business organizations. This is why many of his old-time clients trust him and come back after many years to seek his support in new situations.

As the author of several renowned Japanese publications on strategic communication and facilitation skills, Yoichi Tamura has expertise in facilitating the establishment of new organizations, developing corporate missions and helping companies verbalize and communicate their corporate vision.

He is dedicated to supporting both individuals and organizations, and his work in organizational development is focused on executive coaching, management training, business education, and consulting in a variety of industries.

As a project manager with the Nomura Research Institute, and later with Citibank he planned extensive information system innovation in Asia, Europe, and North America. He refined his skills in project management and strategy formulation while consulting for foreign companies in Japan. After working as a management strategy consultant for five years, he started his own business in Japan to help not only corporate executives alone but all types of managers, professionals, and working adults with aspirations. He applies his experience with HR strategies for corporate change, performance management and coaching theory to help firms to break free of traditional corporate models so they can initiate change.

After graduating from Sophia University in Tokyo with a BA, he traveled west to earn his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia in 1991. He also studied and acquired a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) at the University of Auckland in New Zealand in 1986, reading Philosophy and Political Studies.

At home he lives with his wife and three children, all grown up. He says his children used to be the most demanding clients he had.
